Angenieu presents a new compact Optimo Style lens at NAB 2017

21.04.2017

Angenieux Optimo Style 48-130mm T3 photo Helium RED 8K Angenieux is going to present a new zoom lens in the Optimo Style line at NAB 2017. The Optimo Style 48-130 T3 is the third lightweight compact zoom lens in the Angenieux Optimo Style line. The new Optimo Style 48-130 is the longest zoom in the lightweight series, and weighs only 4.3lb/1.95kg and has a close focus at 3'1"/0.94m. It is the perfect lens for close-ups, portraits, or tight shots either handheld, on Steadicam, remote heads, gimbals, rigs, or drones. It covers an image circle up to 34.6mm diameter (RED 8K Helium, or ARRI Open Gate for instance) with a constant T3 aperture throughout the entire zoom range. The lens should be available Q4 2017. Angenieux also announced special NAB lens bundles to be available until June 10th (ask your Angenieux representative for more details). [source]

Foundry launches Nuke and Hiero 11.0
26.07.2017

Foundry Nuke 11 video Foundry launched Nuke and Hiero 11.0, the next major release for the Nuke family of products including Nuke, NukeX, Nuke Studio, Hiero and HieroPlayer. With this release, the Nuke family is being updated to VFX Platform 2017 -- which includes several major updates to key libraries used within Nuke, including Python, Pyside and Qt -- and also introduces a new type of group node which offers a powerful new collaborative workflow for sharing work among artists. Live Groups referenced in other scripts automatically update when a script is loaded, without the need to render intermediate stages. Nuke Studio's intelligent background rendering is now available in Nuke and NukeX. The Frame Server takes advantage of available resource on your local machine, enabling you to continue working while rendering is happening in the background. The LensDistortion node in NukeX has been completely revamped, with added support for fisheye and wide-angle lenses and the ability to use multiple frames to produce better results. It is now also GPU-enabled, as is the new GPU accelerated disk caching in Nuke Studio that allows users to cache part or all of a sequence to disk for smoother playback of more complex sequences.
