Autodesk announces new extensions for Maya 2013 and 3ds Max 2013

07.08.2012

Autodesk 3ds Max ECS 2013 Extenstion mParticles screenshotAutodesk has announced new extensions for Maya 2013 and 3ds Max 2013. Available to users with active Subscription contracts, the extensions will help artists create more sophisticated physical simulations, and move data more easily through complex pipelines. The extension for 3ds Max augments the power and flexibility of the Particle Flow system, enabling artists to create more sophisticated, realistic, and customized physical simulations in less time. Artists can create particle simulations that replicate real-world effects with the new mParticles module for the MassFX system of simulation solvers. In addition, users can create customized Particle Flow tools with the new Advanced Data Manipulation toolset.

The extension for Maya 2013 software help users' complex data and creative ideas flow more smoothly through the sophisticated pipelines required to tackle today's challenging productions. The new Maya DX11Shader helps artists take advantage of the power of Microsoft DirectX 11 to create and edit high-quality assets and images in less time. Also, building on the Open Data platform, Alembic, and File Referencing, Scene Assembly tools provide users with a mechanism for representing production assets in Maya as discrete elements, each with complete support for multiple representations. The extension releases are expected to be available by late-September 2012. [source]
