Blackmagic Design: UltraStudio 4K with Thunderbolt and more

Blackmagic Design UltraStudio 4K photo At IBC 2012, Blackmagic Design introduced a number of new and updated products, including the UltraStudio 4K, an attractively designed rack mount capture and playback device based on Thunderbolt technology developed by Intel with collaboration from Apple. UltraStudio 4K features full resolution 4K support, dual stream 3D capture/playback, 10-bit hardware architecture, Dual Link 3 Gb/s SDI, support for up to 1080p60 in SDI, component analog and HDMI connections which support full SD, HD, and 4K , for $1,295 US.

Also announced were UltraStudio Mini Monitor and UltraStudio Mini Recorder ($145 US ea.), two new capture and playback solutions featuring 3 Gb/s SDI and HDMI connections plus high speed Thunderbolt technology; DeckLink 4K Extreme, a new PCI Express capture card that now includes all the features of the popular DeckLink HD Extreme 3D card, plus 4K playback and a much faster PCI Express Generation 2 connection to allow higher resolution video standards such as 4K; Videohub Master Control, a new style of router control panel that allows spin knob scrolling of all router sources and destinations as well as direct button entry of any router crosspoint ($695 US); two new models of Mini Converter designed to ease the transition into 4K workflows and to allow lower cost 4K studios to be built - Mini Converter SDI to HDMI 4K and Mini Converter SDI Multiplex ($495 US ea.); and more. Adobe sneak peeks MAX 2013 video Adobe presented a behind-the-scenes look at cutting-edge design and interactive technologies at Adobe MAX, The Creativity Conference. MAX Sneak Peeks offer a unique opportunity to see inside Adobe's engineering labs and to preview future applications and features during their early stage of development. The opening keynote introduced a hardware project named "Mighty" (and a related short ruler project named "Napoleon") which aims to marry traditional drawing tools with the mobility and flexibility of tablet devices.
