eyeon Fusion 6.1 screenshot Eyeon Software released the latest version of Fusion, company's high-end compositing software for Linux and Windows. Fusion 6.1's extensive supercomputing approach utilizes the powerful, low-cost GPU to create assets and layers in real-time, including scene import from 3D animation packages, and support for technologies such as RenderMan and RED Camera MYSTERIUM X. OpenCL supercomputing is a fresh and innovative use of today's massively parallel GPUs. By speeding up computationally intensive operations such as Defocus, Fusion 6.1 allows the artist to instantly visualize sophisticated mathematical operations that compile code on-the-fly for use by the new generation graphics cards. MOTU debuts Digital Performer for Windows

MOTU Digital Performer 8 screenshot MOTU has unveiled Digital Performer version 8, a major upgrade to their flagship audio workstation software. Digital Performer 8 will be available for both Mac OS X and Windows 7 systems (32- as well as 64-bit versions), and will add many new features, including a new video playback engine, Punch Guard confidence recording, 14 new user interface themes, and 15 new included plug-ins. Among the plug-ins to be included with DP8 are two new classic guitar amp models, a bass cabinet model, several classic guitar pedals, modeled analog delay, a multi-band dynamic equalizer, a de-esser, the Subkick kick drum enhancer, and Springamabob, a modeled vintage spring reverb processor.
