3d-io Flatiron 3ds Max 2011 plug-in screenshot German developer 3d-io games & video production GmbH updated its texture baking 3ds Max plug-in Flatiron. Flatiron can handle multiple objects or whole scenes at once and automatically generates unwrapped UV maps which provide exact pixel to model surface aspect ratio. Version 1.55 adds support for Autodesk 3ds Max 2011 and Autodesk 3ds Max Design 2011; more intuitive user interface; enhanced unwrap results; and more. Flatiron is compatible with Autodesk 3ds Max 9, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 and comes with a price tag of 249 EUR. Automatically activated Trial license is limited to a fixed texture resolution and can not be started more than 30 times. [source]

MOTU debuts Digital Performer for Windows

MOTU Digital Performer 8 screenshot MOTU has unveiled Digital Performer version 8, a major upgrade to their flagship audio workstation software. Digital Performer 8 will be available for both Mac OS X and Windows 7 systems (32- as well as 64-bit versions), and will add many new features, including a new video playback engine, Punch Guard confidence recording, 14 new user interface themes, and 15 new included plug-ins. Among the plug-ins to be included with DP8 are two new classic guitar amp models, a bass cabinet model, several classic guitar pedals, modeled analog delay, a multi-band dynamic equalizer, a de-esser, the Subkick kick drum enhancer, and Springamabob, a modeled vintage spring reverb processor.
