Preview version of onOne Software's new image resizing and retargeting software Liquid Resize is now available for immediate download (requires registration). The application presents a new way to resize images using a technique known as "seam carving" (introduced by Shai Avidan and Ariel Shamir at SIGGRAPH 2007; see the related video presentation on YouTube) for content-aware image resizing. This free product preview of Liquid Resize for both Windows and Mac OS X systems is available now as a stand-alone version - a robust, full-featured Photoshop plug-in is expected to be available in the middle of 2008 for an unspecified price.
