NewTek shipped a second version of its Windows-based non-linear video editing software SpeedEDIT. Among the new features of SpeedEDIT 2 are: real-time preview and playback with support for Blackmagic Design hardware and other compatible external video devices; improved slow motion, with options for interpolated smoothing or enhanced sharpness; display of image sequences as clips in real-time, with support extended to JPEG, BMP, PNG, Targa and TIFF files; Sub-Projects now provide the ability to use all of the Control Tree settings for real-time sizing, rotation and overlay functions on groups of clips as if they were a single video clip; native real-time editing with XDCAM HD, XDCAM EX, QuickTime and AC-3 Audio files; DVD chapter export; and more. SpeedEDIT 2 is available for $995 US, with an upgrade price of $249 US for SpeedEDIT and VT[5] owners. [source]
