Ozone 4.0 features Spectral 2 engine for ultra-realistic atmospheres

e-on Ozone 3E-on software, makers of 3D environment software line Vue, announced the availability of Ozone 4.0, its suite of atmospheric plug-ins for 3ds Max, CINEMA 4D, LightWave 3D, Maya and Softimage. In addition, the Ozone 4.0 Personal Learning Edition (a fully functional version of Ozone 4.0 that anyone can use at no charge) will be released in the coming days. Version 4.0 features: a brand new Spectral 2 engine that produces ultra-realistic environments with volumetric clouds, accurate light dispersion and natural phenomena such as Godrays; highly optimized volumetric cloud layers that you can fly through or use to simulate realistic low-lying fog; and the ability to animate atmosphere, clouds as well as sun. The Ozone 4.0 is available for Windows XP / Vista (32- and 64-bit) and Mac OS X 10.4 (Universal Binary) for an MSRP of $295 US, with upgrades from Ozone 3.0 available for $95 US and RenderNode network rendering licenses at $95 US per node.
