PhysX plug-in for 3ds Max v2.01

29.12.2009

NVIDIA PhysX plug-in 2.01 3ds Max 2010 NVIDIA shipped the next version of its PhysX plug-in for 3ds Max, that allows to easily create and manipulate physics simulations. Version 2.01 has been rewritten from the ground up and features: support for 3ds Max 2008 / 2009 / 2010 (32- and 64-bit); a first-class toolbar and menu for creating and controlling the simulation; a modifier-based approach to match workflow in 3ds Max, with greatly improved artist interface to the options; improved constraint visualization and performance; convenient ragdolls, deriving collision volumes from a skinned mesh; the ability to bake simulation results to keyframes for offline rendering; and more. Some PhysX features available in the previous plug-in are not exposed (yet) on the new version, including fluids, cloth, force fields, and soft bodies. These will be featured in future releases, including new APEX Clothing system. The plug-in is freely available through NVIDIA's developer extranet (sign in here, if you do not have an account, yet).
