UAD Software 7.8: Culture Vulture, Dyna-mite and Tonelux Tilt plug-ins
Universal Audio announced new UAD Software v7.8 for its UAD Powered Plug-Ins platform and Apollo audio interfaces. The software features an all new Thermionic Culture Vulture plug-in ($299 US) modeling the original hardware distortion unit's three distinct all-valve circuit topologies and features Universal Audio's first ever pentode tube circuit model. The Culture Vulture plug-in also offers two features not found on the original hardware - a Dry/Wet Parallel Mix control and a Link function for a perfectly matched stereo image to maximize workflow and preserve balances. Version 7.8 also introduces two new Softube-developed plug-ins: Valley People Dyna-mite ($199 US) and Tonelux Tilt EQ ($99 US). The Valley People Dyna-mite Plug-In is an exacting emulation of the classic limiter/expander/gate, a creative tool capable of extreme, yet musical effects on a variety of sound sources. Designed to speed up EQ workflow and enhance creativity, the Tonelux Tilt EQ plug-in allows for quick, simple, and effective broad-stroke EQ moves. With the single Tilt control, engineers and producers can quickly mix as they go. Turn it to the right to cut lows and boost highs, turn it to the left to cut highs and boost lows. The Tonelux Tilt EQ Plug-In also models the transformer found in the Tonelux hardware, adding a subtle distortion for bass frequencies, fattening up the low end of a track. [source]

Universal Audio announces the Neve 1073 plug-in
Universal Audio announced the Neve 1073 Preamp & EQ Collection for the UAD Powered Plug-Ins platform and Apollo audio interfaces. The Neve 1073 channel amplifier is easily the most revered preamp and EQ circuit ever designed. Introduced in 1970, this hallowed class-A, transistor mic/line amp with EQ epitomizes the beautiful "Neve sound". In 2006, Universal Audio released the Neve 1073 and 1073SE legacy plug-ins, which quickly became a staple for in-the-box mixing and mastering engineers worldwide. Now, UA's team of engineers have improved upon the original and incorporated - for the first time ever - all 10 clipping points from the preamp and EQ circuitry, as well as Unison technology integration with the award-winning Apollo and Apollo Twin audio interfaces. The result is the all-new Neve 1073 plug-in - an end-to-end circuit emulation of the original Neve 1073 console channel that delivers its trademark grit and harmonically rich class-A saturation. Available for purchase for $299 US ($149 US for owners of the legacy Neve plug-ins), the Neve 1073 Preamp & EQ Collection also includes the legacy Neve 1073 and 1073SE 'DSP light' plug-ins and is part of the new UAD Software v7.7.
