Intensity Black Magic photoBlackmagic Design Inc. released new Mac OS X versions of software for its line of video-capture, editing, and conversion hardware. New Multibridge 6.6, DeckLink 6.6 and Intensity 1.8 software includes support for the new Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and the Mac version of Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 (v3.1). Among the introduced features is the support for Leopard's Cover Flow and Quick Look functions, project presets for capture and playback using Blackmagic's 10-bit RGB codec for 2K film and high definition 4:4:4 video on all Multibridge PCIe and DeckLink HD cards, as well as RS-422 device control (all Multibridge PCIe and DeckLink). Cintique Wacom 12WXWacom announced new LCD-tablet combination called Cintiq 12WX. It combines the advantages of a Cintiq interactive pen display technology with the portability and compact size of a traditional Intuos3 pen tablet. It offers slimline dimensions (405 x 270 x 17 mm), 12.1" TFT display, weight of just 2,000 g, 5,080lpi resolution, 1,024 pressure levels in both the pen tip and eraser, the Display Toggle function (allowing you to switch between screens or maximize pen control across different displays), support for all Intuos3 input devices, ExpressKeys and Touch Strips. The Cintiq 12WX is bundled with Corel Painter Essentials, and will be available from November 2007 in the UK priced at £829.99 including VAT. Its authors explain: "Temper has been designed to manipulate MIDI in ways that may be difficult in other applications: It's intended to be interactive, exploratory and fun. Temper contains algorithmic composition techniques, but it's not intended to automatically generate musical passages.
