Vision has been designed as an ideal add-on to NLEs and postproduction suites and combines extensive motion graphics capabilities with a thorough scripting engine to automate repetitive tasks, such as station packaging and promos. Rotation is a cost-effective solution to create roto mattes (with double-edged splines to control mask drop-off) and features extensive keying (channels, chroma, blue/green screens and difference) and retouching features (vector-based paint w/tablet support, cloning and smearing)... Both applications are based on Fusion's image processing core and feature similar node-based workflow, ASCII-based project files and a shared bin system for collaborative workflow. Schoeps releases their 'Double MS Tool' for free!

Schoeps DMS plug-in screenshotSchoeps, a German legend in the field of professional microphone design, released a free VST Windows-only plug-in, that: "[...] enables customized and intuitive decoding of the three signals of the Double M/S system." Double M/S technique uses one Figure-of-8 and two (Front / Rear) Cardioid microphones for a three channel recording which can be later decoded to a 5.0 surround mix. Trapcode, Swedish makers of acclaimed After Effects (and compatible) plug-ins, announced plans to release new versions of their products this summer. Particular, Lux, Sound Keys and Echospace will be released in Universal Binary versions (as free upgrades), Shine, Starglow and 3D Stroke will be upgraded to new versions with new features (Float/HDR support, compatibility w/new hosts: Avid, Motion, FCP and PPro). New PostScript Drivers for Windows Vista

Adobe announced new PostScript Driver software for Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Office applications. With it, customers can use their existing PostScript printers while obtaining higher quality print output from Microsoft Office applications (Adobe says the driver delivers higher quality print output for Office files with transparency and gradients than printing the same files using the standard PostScript driver bundled with Windows). The driver is expected to ship to Adobe OEM printing partners in July 2007. [source]

The software for Windows and Mac operating systems is available from January 1, 2018, and introduces new features for physically-based rendering, VR rendering, and more. It also extends the functionality of popular features like the buffer system, FiberFX, cel-shading, object deformations, and others. The new version offers a completely rewritten rendering, shading and lighting architecture for greater realism, accuracy and ease-of-use as well as expanded workflow for render and light buffers that simplifies compositing and offers more flexibility, including real-time preview of new buffers in any viewport using Viewport Preview Renderer (VPR). Using the new volumetric render primitives, artists can specify physical properties, Scattering, Absorption and Emission parameters, along with powerful node networks. New lighting architecture brings physical lights that can be optionally visible to the camera, and improved loading of IES web files to better match the intensity of real manufactured lights. The Surface Editor has also been overhauled for the new shading system with powerful node-based materials. The Layout View viewport in the Modeler shows the current camera view from Layout, and features fully interactive tools including Lattice, Smoothing, Array and Spline Bridge. Additionally, LightWave 2018 includes new enhancements to the VPR and introduces many additional new features and improvements such UDIM texture support, more supported presets, FiberFX, Unity 5 support, and more.
